Fallout 3 Point Lookout DLC Reviews

The new week kicks off with several more reviews for Fallout 3’s recently released Point Lookout addon.

The first is at Console Monster with a score of 92%:

If you have yet to take the plunge into Fallout 3 DLC, you should probably hold off until you have reaped some of the rewards from alternate DLC packs, particularly ‘Broken Steel’ for the level cap increase. Point Lookout is certainly one of the better content packs available, something which fans of Fallout 3 are bound to enjoy.

The second is at Xbox360Achievements.org with a score of 9/10:

Point Lookout provides players with an expansive new area to explore, an intriguing new story, and several side-quests to extend the amount of play time in the new content, making this the biggest and longest expansion yet. The new achievements are solid, and its nice to have a higher level of difficulty, though it’s too bad that few people are likely to use any of the new items. If you’re a Fallout 3 fan looking for some new territory to explore, Point Lookout is most certainly for you.

The third is at Evolved Gaming with a score of 9/10:

This DLC is my favorite of the Fallout 3 DLC that has been released. It combines excellent gameplay with intricate storytelling. While the missions are short, there is still a ton of stuff to do. Players will not be disappointed with this DLC.

The fourth is at GameCritics with a score of 9.0/10:

Overall, this is the largest and most fully-realized expansion yet produced for Fallout 3, and it’s an order of magnitude better than any of the previous installments. With quality on par with what can be found in the main game and a significant amount of content for players to digest, if a person could only choose one Fallout add-on, it would most certainly have to be Point Lookout.

The fifth is at Boomtown with a score of 7/10:

Although the main quest line is not as long as previous content releases, Point Lookout has a large game environment, with lots of places to explore and several other side quests. This new DLC is not quite as good as previous efforts from Bethesda, but it’s certainly good enough, and big enough to warrant the 800 Microsoft Point price tag.

And the sixth is at GameDebate with a score of 8/10:

So, a decent addition to the Fallout 3 stable then, and one that probably does just about live up to that bold proclamation. In fact, this seems closer to embracing the ideals of a full expansion pack. It’s probably not large, or long, enough to justify that grand title, but it adds more than any other DLC I can think of. At 800 Microsoft Points (hnnngh!), or £8-ish, this is a bit of a bargain. Especially if you want to extend that Fallout feeling whilst doing something different with your time. I done say y’all should give this here add-on a proper go.
