Fallout Shelter, a new mobile game for iPad and iPhone has just been released.

In a surprise announcement at tonight’s E3 2105 Showcase, Bethesda revealed a brand new Fallout game for iOS devices. To further add to the excitement, video game designer Todd Howard disclosed that Fallout Shelter would be available for download immediately after the press conference.

During the press conference, Howard showed gameplay video for Fallout Shelter. In the game, players build their own Vault and are responsible for the shelter’s maintenance and well being of its dwellers.

Howard indicated that Fallout Shelter was inspired by an RPG called Progress Quest, and he encouraged gamers to check the game out.

Fallout Shelter is free-to-play with no paywalls or internet connection required. As Howard promised, the game is available to download now in the Apple Store. Here is the link.

Note: I tried to download the game around midnight, Central Time, but couldn’t. According to a Tweet by Pete Hines, Bethesda Vice President, it may take a bit of time for iTunes to update. The Tweet also alluded to an Android version of Fallout Shelter.
