Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone Reviews

Four new reviews for Atari’s Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone have appeared on the web over the past couple of weeks. The first is over at Got Next with an overall score of 3.5/5:

The game is also woefully short. An experienced hack and slash player should breeze through this thing in under 12 hours and even shorter than that on the lower difficulty setting, which leaves one wanting for much, much more. The short experience, however, is one that is worth traveling through, especially if Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is appealing to you. This title is a graphical powerhouse that can have over a dozen enemies surrounding you and it never seems to chug. The cinematic in-game presentation leaves one feeling as if he had just hacked and slashed through an actual film. Maybe he did and maybe you should.

The second is at CGN with an overall score of 3.5/5:

For all its positives, Demon Stone is marred by some prominent flaws. The bottom line is this: If you loved The Two Towers, D&D, or hack and slash titles, then Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone may be worth a look. Ten levels may not be enough to warrant a purchase. but for any interested, Stormfront Studio’s newest title is unquestionably worth a rental.

The third is at GameMethod with an overall score of 70/100:

Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone attempts to bring Dungeons and Dragons into the action genre, but does so with a mediocre effort. Beautiful visuals and appealing audio design can’t counter monotonous combat mechanics that condense to simple button mashing. Watered down role-playing and weak stealth elements only highlight the mediocre action gameplay. Even more, the game is extraordinarily short, clocking in at less than ten hours for ten chapters. While it might be pretty, Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone joins so many other action games in the forgettable realm.

And the fourth is at Contact Music with an overall score of 85%:

I have now come to the conclusion that I will never be the greatest gamer out there but I do like the challenge but unfortunately I was stumped very early on in the proceedings of this adventure and got irritated retrying from the same place time and time again, but saying that before I was struggling I enjoyed Demon Stone immensely . I enjoyed hacking ‘n’ slashing at Orcs and Trolls I encountered through the many scenarios and will return to fight another day.
