HOMM IV Box Art & Preview

Today, the Celestial Heavens website conjured up the first picture of the box art to Heroes of Might & Magic IV… and it looks incredibly good, much better than HOMM III’s in my opinion.

Secondly, a preview I missed earlier, GamePen wrote a 5 page detailed preview based upon a beta-build of the game. It’s extremely positive and pretty much covers all the obvious improvements the game’s making to the series, as in this nugget:

One nice touch eliminates the “courier hero”. In previous editions, one of the tedious aspects was having to shuttle creatures on a hero’s back, going back and forth between towns. You can now have an automatic migration from one town to another of creatures, called a Caravan. The creatures disappear for the time it would take for a hero to make the trip, and show up in the target town after that period of time. It’s essentially the same as having a hero do it, just automatically and invisibly.
