King of Dragon Pass Successor “Six Ages” in Works

With a rather low-key blog post, David Dunham, a designer on the original King of Dragon Pass, has announced that he’s started working on a successor to the storytelling-driven classic called Six Ages, together with Robin D. Laws (writer and designer on the original title), Jan Pospíšil (illustrator on the iOS version of the title), and Patrick Ward, a former colleague of Dunham at Shenandoah Studio.

Given it’s still very early in development we basically still have no details on the actual gameplay and story, but we do know it’s going to be set in Glorantha, just like King of Dragon Pass:

Unfortunately, I can’t tell you much. Partly that’s because development is still in the early stages. Mostly it’s because Six Ages is an ambitious project, and won’t be released for well over a year. A lot can change in development. And right now, there’s nothing interesting to show anyway.

But I can say that the game will consist of meaningful story choices tied together by the economic challenges facing a small community. It will be set in Glorantha and draw from its rich cultures and mythology. And it’s intended to be highly replayable.

The title also already has a very barebones website and an active Twitter account to follow.

Thanks, Rock, Paper, Shotgun.
