Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Available for Pre-purchase on Steam

It’s nice to see our fears dispelled once in a while, and this is exactly what happened when we learned that Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning was available on Steam for pre-purchase, together with its demo, meaning that the game won’t be an Origin exclusive after all. The game will apparently feature Steam achievements and Steam cloud support, for those of you who are interested in these features, and will come with three items for Team Fortress II for anyone who pre-orders. Here’s the game overview:

The minds of New York Times bestselling author R.A. Salvatore, Spawn creator Todd McFarlane, and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion lead designer Ken Rolston have combined to create Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, a new role-playing game set in a world worth saving. Build the character you’ve always wanted and continuously evolve it to your style of play with the revolutionary Destiny system. Choose your path and battle through a master-crafted universe featuring some of the most intense, responsive, and customizable RPG combat ever.

38 Studios isn’t owned by Electronic Arts so I supposed that ultimately that’s the reason for the title’s presence on Valve’s digital delivery service.
