Lawrence Schick Video Interview, Part One

Today, Matt Barton’s Matt Chat has a particularly interesting episode for us, as Barton’s guest was Lawrence Schick. Schick is currently the loremaster for The Elder Scrolls Online and has a very, very long history in game development, RPGs in particular. He has worked closely with figures such as Gary Gygax at TSR and Sid Meier at Microprose, wrote a book on the history of RPGs all the way back in 1991, and also wrote the 1979 D&D adventure module White Plume Mountain, just to cite a few accomplishments.

During this first part of the interview, Schick talks about his experience starting in the pen and paper industry, his transition to videogames, and his work at Microprose. I’ve taken the liberty to embed the video below for easy viewing:
