Loki: Heroes of Mythology Review

Computer Games Romania reviewed Loki and laments the action RPG’s many, many bugs before finishing it off with an overall score of 66/100.

The game was criticized by the community because of the bugs; so far, 7 patches have been released, which solve most of Loki’s problems, but not completely. The most common and annoying bugs are those which create a form of lag (which is not dependent on the system’s requirements) when you issue a command to your hero, the sometimes weird pathfinding and the possibility of getting stuck in the environment. Not to mention sudden crashes to the desktop, usually in the in the middle of a confrontation, or after you’ve reached a new level with your character.

As far as the AI goes (barring the bugs, which are numerous in this department as well), I can say that it’s mediocre. If, for example, a gnome remains alone on the battlefield, it will try to run, but often without success, because you can catch it easily. The AI will attack you with endless hordes, fact that may prove to be problematic, because a monster can hunt you to the bitter end of the map, with you being with the health on minimum and without any health potion at hand. I emphasize this because in Loki, if you have lost health and find quiet a place to stay still for a while, it will regenerate on its own. Speaking of AI and monsters, once you kill them, they will not respawn automatically, so XP farming will be at a minimum.
