Mass Effect 3 PC Version Won’t Feature Gamepad Support

People who had the chance to play the original Mass Effect and its sequel on PC won’t be surprised by this news, but on the official BioWare Social forums, community manager Chris Priestly that the PC version of Mass Effect 3 won’t support controllers:

The PC version does not support controllers. They may or may not work, but they are unsupported by the game.

Pressed for explanations by a fan on Twitter, designer Manveer Heir explained why it wasn’t possible to add the feature:

@manveerheir that’s so…so…frustrating. WHY don’t you support gamepad on X360? Please, an honest, no bullshit answer… – a fan

@j0hn385 there is a development cost in terms of time/effort to get all the GUIs (graphical user interfaces) so 360 buttons show up on PC

@j0hn385 it may seem minor, but our GUI team was already stretched thin & things were coming in on at last min, so we couldn’t add more work

@manveerheir seems rather sloppy and “we don’t give a damn”-like. :/ people are tearing Bioware apart on GAF for that… !surprising

@j0hn385 Definitely not “we don’t give a damn”. It’s unfortunate and I understand why people are upset, but there are dev realities sadly
