Middle-Earth Online Site Update

Turbine’s official Middle-Earth Online website has been updated with a new point of interest (Frodo’s House at Crickhollow) and a developer diary from Tim Holman, Senior Producer of the MMORPG. A snippet from the latter:

We set out to make the best game possible, but as the game was coming together we weren’t satisfied that every aspect of MEO was as good as it could be. Each time we refined a quest, changed a monster’s behavior, or polished the look and feel of a certain area, the game got that much better. We wanted to have time to go through the entire game multiple times to do this sort of polish, to make Middle-Earthâ„¢ Online not just acceptably good, but a truly shining example of what fantasy MMPs could be.

In the months since we have announced the delay we have been playing and tweaking, playing and polishing, playing and eating donuts. (No one can work all the time!) Every day we’re making small changes and improvements – changing selection reticules, modifying FX and sounds, balancing monster difficulty, killing, looting, crafting, grouping, icons, dialogue, and hundreds of other things.
