Oblivion Guide to User Made Mods

Gamehelper has kicked up a two-part guide that details some of the more useful user-made mods for Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Part One covers BT Mod, Cheydinhal Petshop, Illumination Within, Improved Facial Textures, and Harvest [Flora]. Part Two covers Kumiko Manor, Companion Gabrielle, Saddlebags, Oscuro’s Oblivion Overhaul, The Golden Arrow Archer Shop, Landscape LOD Texture Replacement, Capes ‘˜n’ Cloaks, Hilarity, Ren’s Beauty Pack, and Reznod’s Mannequins. Personally, I find the Saddlebags mod very useful:

This is another one of those mods that makes you just go, (Duh.) What this mod does is allow you to put loot onto your horse. Simple, right? It is, but that’s what makes this mod great. If you’re like me and play as a thieving archer, you’re not exactly Thor running around with 550 Encumbrance. It gets particularly annoying when you can’t grab that big shiny magical hammer because you only have 10 little feather points left. This mod allows you to at least truck it back to your waiting horse and come back in for more phat lewtz. Because let’s face it, chicks love men with phat lewtz. A couple of notes about this mod: it comes in 2 flavors, limited and unlimited. Limited gives your horse a set encumbrance and I’ll let you guess what unlimited does. Also, the mod has been merged with another mod, CallSteed, which is a useful spell for calling your horse to you. Think Gandalf and Shadowfax.
