Obsidian Entertainment to Announce New Game at GDC in March

The eagle-eyed folks at RPG Codex recently stumbled across a profile for Obsidian Entertainment associate producer Katrina Schnell that not only highlights her contributions to Pillars of Eternity but also reveals the developer’s plans to announce a new game at the San Francisco GDC in March. Something tells me they didn’t want this information out there just yet:

Following graduation, Katrina moved permanently to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the gaming industry. She joined other alumni from the Department of Interactive Media including Emily Berger ’11, Matt Vroman ’12, Anna Diep ’07, Jed Schlanger ’96, and Renee Radford ’06 as a working member of the entertainment industry. As a result of the incredible networking opportunities gained through her time with the Hollywood Semester, Katrina was quickly hired as an intern with Obsidian. In January, Katrina assumes the full-time position of Associate Producer with Obsidian, a major gaming development house located in Irvine, California.

During her time as an intern with Obsidian, Katrina was able to assist with a trailer for an upcoming game entitled Project Eternity, now officially named Pillars of Eternity. Katrina added her talents to the gaming project by singing and playing the violin for the trailer. The amazing new game has a fantastic look, and was developed by a group of people who were involved in making the Baldur’s Gate game.

This isn’t the only game Katrina is working on through Obsidian … that game is still a secret and will be announced at Game Developers Conference in San Francisco in 2014!

I realize that I’m probably way off by using some Icewind Dale artwork for a completely unannounced game, but since there’s a possibility that this could be Icewind Dale III, I’m just going to leave it there in case it helps shape the future.
