Overlord II Reviews

Another fistful of Overlord II reviews have reached the ‘net, and they all land squarely in the favorable range.

First up is Destructoid with a score of 7.0/10:

If you liked the first game, then this is worth a purchase. Fans of the original will be prepared for the game’s less savory moments and will be more than happy to struggle through for the end result. The ride is incredibly bumpy, but ultimately worth it.

Then we have HEXUS with a score of 7.5/10:

While Overlord II builds only slightly on the previous game in terms of gameplay, the storyline and some of the new features make it worth looking at if you enjoyed the first. Though problems that were evident in the first game surface once again, we’ve still enjoyed our time in control of the Overlord. The real stars of the game, however, are the Minions – and providing you can cope with some frustrating moments – you’ll have a good time causing absolute carnage across the Netherworld and enjoy a few laughs along the way.

Before moving to Video Games Reloaded for a score of 8.3/10:

Overlord II may feel like more of the same, but when the original was as good as it was.what is there to complain about? It provides more classic, twisted humour while maintaining an enjoyable adventure that is great from start to finish.

And concluding the round-up at The Leisure Lab with a score of 4/5:

Overlord II offers tactical and strategic gameplay elements in the control and drilling of your minions, while still playing like a traditional adventure game as you pilot the Overlad himself. Not only is it fun to play, but it’s also gorgeous to look at and bursting with hilarious voice acting and excellent environmental sound effects, and while it might be a little frothy for some tastes, we’d still highly recommend it.
