Path of Exile Upcoming Timeline

Path of Exile’s current Incursion challenge league is still going strong, but the developers over at Grinding Gear Games have already set their sights towards the future. According to this official announcement, the next big update for the game should be going live September 1, 2018, and in the meantime, we can expect to get a few minor patches, a Flashback event, a set of improvements to party play, and more. Check it out:

While players are enjoying the Incursion League, we’re hard at work on what’s coming next! Today’s news post is a check-in regarding what’s happening in the near future in Path of Exile.

Incursion Flashback Event
Last week we announced that we will be running a competitive Flashback Event from 9am Saturday August 4th (NZT) until 10am Tuesday August 28th (NZT). It will run in parallel with the Incursion Challenge League which will also be enabled on the event so that you can continue your challenge progression. The event will include rotating mods from 11 popular past Path of Exile leagues. There are microtransactions, Mystery Boxes, Demigod’s Dominances and bragging rights up for grabs! Find out more here

Party Improvements
Earlier this league, we described an upcoming set of improvements to party play in Path of Exile. While we indicated this would be released by now, we haven’t managed to do so yet. We’re still expecting to release these changes prior to the release of 3.4.0. Thanks for your patience!

Smaller Upcoming Patches
We’re working on a small upcoming patch that contains a few minor bug fixes. We’re planning to deploy this early next week. It also includes support for the upcoming Flashback event and some minor layout improvements to the Tormented Spirit room.

In addition, we have been making a bunch of behind-the-scenes technical improvements that probably won’t have a lot of direct effect on the players yet. An example is upgrading the version of the compiler we use to build the game. We will roll some of these updates out before 3.4.0 so that any issues they introduce can be directly attributed to the change that caused it.

Xbox One
We’ve improved the process of pricing items in Premium Stash Tabs on Xbox One. When setting a price note on an item, the price slot is automatically highlighted and the virtual keyboard has been removed. This value can be incremented by 1 or 10 using ‘LS’ or the D-pad (up/down for an increment of one, left or right for increments of 10). The expandable window where you select the currency type you’d like to receive is also displayed by default now and can be changed using ‘RS’.

We’ve added an option which will allow you to quickly repeat the last item price and currency type that you set. After pricing an item, a new option will be available during the pricing process under the ‘X’ keybind which displays the last used amount and type of currency.

Content Update 3.4.0
Next week, we’re doing the press tour for the next expansion! The new league is coming along really well and we can’t wait to share it with you. We’re currently targeting September 1st (NZT) for our release date but we will confirm this alongside our official announcement and new supporter packs on August 10th.
