Phoenix Point – October Updated Gameplay Video

Earlier this month, we got a development update for Snapshot Games’ Phoenix Point that talked about cutscenes and soldier customization. And in an effort to do more showing and less telling, the developers have now put together a new video update that focuses on Phoenix Point’s early cinematics, soldier barks and customization, and the game’s revamped targeting UI. Here it is:

And here are the text parts:

As we near completion, we’re focusing our development time on putting together and refining a big group of smaller tweaks and features. Our teams are focused on polishing up textures and models, nailing down the UI to ensure the best and relevant information is given the player, balancing skills, abilities and difficulty and ever importantly; hunting down those bugs.

As we’ve expanded our video production pipeline, we realize that it’s much easier to show, rather than tell about, updates and development progress. As such, this update, and future ones are going to show footage from the latest studio development builds. You will see news things that have been added and existing things that have been updated.

These videos will follow the format of a traditional “Let’s Play”, but the development build will continue to evolve as each successive video drops— much like those troublesome Pandorans.

Writing Competition

In our last update we posted the first of the runners-up from our writing competition.

This time, we have another installment of lore from The Archives. Another story from one of our runners-up, Andrew Cheyne. You can read his story, “Oysters”, here.

Release

Phoenix Point will be releasing in just over 1 month. We’re so excited, even though we still have a lot to do. We will keep posting updates up to and throughout our launch to keep you up to date with development of Phoenix Point pre- and post-launch.
