Pirates of the Caribbean Online Update Details

Disney Online has announced plans to introduce tattoo parlors, jewelry stores, and tailor shops for added character customization options in Pirates of the Caribbean Online.

In February, Pirates of the Caribbean Online players will be able to give their customized Pirate avatars a whole new look! Adding to the already extensive character creation system, Disney Online will introduce new customization options including new hairstyles, tattoos and jewelry and clothing, including three brand-new coats inspired by members of the Brethren Court.

Tattoo parlors, jewelry stores, and tailor shops will be added and, also as part of the Avatar Customization update, Disney Online will add the first round of (emotes) to the game. Emotes give players a whole new way of communicating by allowing players’ avatars to do a variety of actions including dancing, laughing, clapping, and celebrating.

Disney Online has also made changes to the Lookout System an in-game system that matches players up with others looking to engage in the same activity. Players can now instantly see their percentage of finding a match (high, medium, or low) to help determine how long it will take before a match is found. Players can also now get more closely matched with other players that are at the same notoriety level as themselves.

In addition, Disney Online has also made enhancements to the Quest tracking system. Now when players are in the (return to townsperson) stage of completing a Quest, they simply must follow the ray of light and the yellow arrow at their feet to return to their townsperson.

Disney Online has additional content planned for 2008 including expanding ship customization, extending quest story lines, and adding more enemies and challenges.

Pirates of the Caribbean Online, developed and published by Disney Online, is rated E10+ and features lower PC and Mac system requirements than most other games in this genre, allowing for easier access to a broader audience of players.

Players can download the game directly and access additional information at the game’s Web site, www.PiratesOnline.com. A portion of the game is available for free and players can get unlimited access for a monthly subscription fee.
