Refining Tactics – The Combat of Dragon Age: Inquisition

The new Dragon Age: Inquisition video over at GameInformer shows some glimpses of the game’s combat (courtesy of some off-screen footage) interspersed with some snippets from creative director Mike Laidlaw and executive producer Mark Darrah.

The example of combat shown by senior game designer Josh Stiksma was an enemy with a big shield, who had to be either attacked from behind or pulled off-balance to be significantly damaged. The game was played with a controller and a third-person camera, but it’s worth noting that BioWare promised that the controls and camera would be optimized for the PC platform.
