Rise of the Argonauts Reviews

Four more reviews of Rise of the Argonauts hit the web over the holidays, some of which seem to be more upbeat about the RPG than we’ve seen in previous reviews. First up is GameCritics with a score of 7.5/10:

Carried along by high adventure, interesting sidequests, and a cast of characters I was glad to spend time with, Rise of the Argonauts was an entertaining ride that I would recommend to people interested in the subject matter, or to players who crave an action-RPG that’s a little on the lighter side. If nothing else, gamers who throw in with Jason and his crew will come away culturally enriched and slightly more educated by the time the ending credits roll, and that’s not something that can be said for just any game.

Then we have The Escapist with no score:

If you’re a diehard fan of both RPGs and Greek mythology, there may be enough here to justify the $60 price tag. For everyone else, Argonauts will likely disappoint.

Followed by WonderwallWeb with a score of 6.7/10:

Rise of the Argonauts is a bit of a mixed bag really, exploring the lands of ancient Greece is certainly going to appeal to some people and in this respect the game just about gets the pass mark it needs, however if you are looking for an RPG to immerse yourself in and which will keep you busy for months then you may want to look elsewhere.

And we conclude at Extreme Gamer with a score of 7/10:

So Rise of the Argonauts isn’t the best action RPG on the market, but it’s no where near the worst. If you enjoyed God of War, or action role-playing games with a mythological twist then you should check out Rise of the Argonauts. Depending on your love of dialog, this could be a hit or miss. Either way, buy or rent, Jason and his Argonauts deserves a look this holiday season.
