“Silent Night – A Ghost Story for Christmas” Releases Dec 2018

Darkling Room in co-ordination with Iceberg Interactive have recently announced that a new and stand-alone adventure in the Crown series is due for release this Christmas. Silent Night – A Ghost Story for Christmas is the first game in the series to be given the full 3D treatment, which you can see in all it’s glory in the teaser trailer below…

Silent Night – A Ghost Story for Christmas all takes place at Northfield Church during an endless Christmas Eve. Beyond this church there is the dark and mysterious Carrion Woods, where legend says the wood-dwellers and apparitions haunt the woods.

Northfield itself lost over two third of its population back in 1349, as the Black Death swept through taking man, woman and child. As the body count increased, so did the paranoia and suspicion of who is at fault. Was it witches, or the folk who lived in the Carrion Wood, until the dwindling population of Northfield started to turn in on itself.

Jonathan Boakes, the creator and writer of the Crown franchise says

“I’m very pleased to be moving the Crown games in a new direction. It’s been refreshing to move the ghost-hunting games to full 3D. All the new whizzes and bangs of 3D have given us new vigour, with lots to look forward to. Wrap up warm, the Carrion Woods await.

The main star of the game is Northfield Church, which has been painstakingly recreated inside and out, with full exploration. The church is based on Duloe Church, just up the road from me, here in Cornwall, so it was a nice job to capture both textures and actual photogrammetry of the site.”
