Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed Preview

Yahoo Games Domain has put together a preview of Jump to Lightspeed, after seeing the Star Wars Galaxies expansion during a demo with LucasArts producer Haden Blackman. A snip:

Successful battles result in a lot of loot, enabling players to build up their crafting skills along with their finances. Yes, the player-driven economy for unique and battle-beneficial items still exists, and is further enhanced with the Jump to Lightspeed additions.

Blackman noted that the space combat, especially in a multiplayer ship, will require a fair amount of collaboration. For instance, he said that trying to fire on enemy ships from a turret becomes much more difficult if the pilot is too aggressive in navigating the cosmos, so the team has to work together to form a strategy that works for everyone. Also, he noted that there are occasions when two turrets share the same energy source, which nixes the strategy of just holding down the trigger and firing haphazardly.
