Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed Review

VIA Gamers has dished up a review of Jump to Lightspeed, and although they don’t give the Star Wars Galaxies space expansion an overall score, they leave us with this conclusion:

Although I am not an ace or master pilot yet (I still probably have about another 2 weeks to go) the game so far has exceeded my expectations. Although I was disappointed with the PVP, the co-op and single player missions are a lot more fun than I hoped for. It’s like a blast from the past, bringing today’s quality graphics to the Star Wars in-space universe. With the multiplayer ships, although I didn’t experience it first hand, I was in a group with six guys in a Nova class multiplayer ship (master Rebel Alliance ship) watching a skirmish and over Teamspeak group chat we could hear the pilot yell out to his co-pilots “put out plasma fires” and “fix that reactor leak”. It’s true to the experience I’d expect in a Star Wars ship, like a scene from the films we never saw. It instantly made me think of Luke, Han, Leia, and the droids running around on the Flacon trying to get the Hyperdrive to work. The customization of the ships is also another feature which really impressed me and it should play a big part in game play when Sony do get PVP working. Even if you’re not interested in MMOG in general, if you’re a Star Wars fan and/or a space flight-sim fan then Jump to Lighspeed is for you.
