The Elder Scrolls Online: Murkmire Interviews

Back during this year’s E3, Bethesda announced the Argonian-themed Murkmire zone and story content expansion for their MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online. And now, Gamescom brings us a couple of interviews with the game’s director Matt Firor where he talks about the upcoming swampy expansion. Here’s what he had to say to IGN:

And here’s a snippet from his interview with PCGamesN:

“This is the first time people have seen Argonians in Argonian culture – and they’re weird,” Firor says. “I don’t how else to put it. Their philosophy is very much ‘now.’ Live today, don’t worry about tomorrow, but especially don’t worry about the past.”

That desire to stay in the now puts them directly at odds with your quest in Murkmire. “The story, of course, is they have to worry about the past. It’s like Indiana Jones, you’re trying to find an artifact from the history of Black Marsh. And the Argonians really don’t care. They don’t want to help you, because what’s passed is past, and they’re just worried about today.”
