The Return of EQ’Lizer

Our friend J.C. Smith let us know that the original EverQuest spoiler site EQ’lizer is once again open for business over at GameZNet. Here’s a list of the features to expect:

All Databases

– All list pages can be sorted by a multitude of options. If you are viewing the bestiary and would like to sort it by mob difficulty, then simply click the Difficulty header and it will re-sort the page by the boss mob s difficulty. If you are viewing equipment and want to sort by a stat, simply click on that stat anywhere on the page and it will re-sort.
For example if you click on HP anywhere on that page it will sort the items on that page by hit points.
– All list pages have a customizable number of search results.
– User comments should now be enabled for all databases. All comments must be verified by our staff before they go live, but this should not take more than 24 hours Enjoy this new feature of the site.
– We have added a new flash menu to the top of the page. This allows you to quickly jump to Quests, Equipment, Bestiary or Atlas by clicking the image at the top of the screen.
– The By Zone listings for each database have a layout which is sorted by expansion/continent. This should make it easier to find zones for a particular expansion.
– We have added a quick search feature to the front page. This allows you to search for bestiary, equipment, quests, spells or zones by entering name without having to enter in to an advanced search or by zone listing.
– The advanced searches for each portion of the web site have been improved to provide additional features.
– The advanced searches will intelligently sort data based on your search criteria. For example if you search for Shadowknight usable armor with a value of HP >100, it will sort your results by hit points automatically.
– Links are auto-detected in the databases. If an item is listed as a mob or quest that doesn t exist then the database will not create a link to that mob or quest. This prevents broken links and helps both our staff and the user help find missing or incorrect information.
– We now have the ability to poll our readers on the front page. Voice your opinions!
– We have added Latest X headers to the top of the news page. This should help you keep track of items that may have scrolled off the main page.

Bestiary

– We have added a race field to the bestiary. This field determines if a mob is Undead, Summoned, Animal, Plant, Shissar, Orc, etc. It should help druids, necromancers, rangers, paladins, clerics, magicians and shadowknights find targets they are most suited for. It can also be used to determine which mobs your Bane Damage weapon can affect.
– Added Quest_Monster as a mob classification. Mobs targeted as Quest_Monster are only useful for those doing a particular quest. Previously many of these they were listed as Rare_Monsters.
– Added a Raid Difficulty field for Bosses and Mini-Bosses. This value determines how tough this mob is for a raid to encounter. Coupled with the ability to sort by this field, we hope that this helps guilds, young and new, find the mobs that they should be killing.
– You may now get a complete list of boss mobs or rare monsters by clicking the respective links from the front page. This was a feature at the classic EQ Lizer, which had gone badly out of date. It is now functional in a completely database driven format and should be much more useful.
– There is now an indicator on the list page which informs you if a mob has a screenshot. This should make it easier to help us fill in the blanks. We lost ALL mob screenshots during data loss recently so we need your help in refilling them. (hint hint)

Equipment:

– Menus now intelligently determine the data for Bane DMG. If a new bane weapon is added to the database, it is automatically added to the advanced search
– You may now filter by augmentation type, trivial value, endurance, quest used in and tradeskill.
– You can now search by Skill Mod. This is a drop down list that should make it easy to find items with the new Time+ skill modifiers.
– If an item is dropped by more than one monster then it will display at *Multiple NPCs on the list page.
Clicking through will reveal the full listing.
– Quest Components are now flagged as such, and you can search for them easily by name, or by using other search mechanisms. We are still adding quest components on a daily basis, so this list will continue to grow.
– You can now search for items by LDON Mechant. This allows you to search for store bought items from the LDoN trade skill merchants and sort that display by Cost in LDoN Points.
– You can filter by, and items are displayed with the Effect type on items which feature an effect. The effect types are: Permanent, Clickable(Must Equip),
Clickable(Inventory) and Proc. You can search for items specific effects or effect types using the advanced search.

Faction

– The faction list page now displays information on the number of mobs and quests that will raise and lower faction. You can click through for complete information and links as before.

Quests

– You may now search for Quests by Item. This will give you a large list of Quest Components. Each component will tell you which quest they are related to on the list page, as well as how to obtain them.
– You can now exclude quests that are of class=Any from advanced searches if you prefer. This allows you to find class specific quests easily.
– You can now filter by quest rating. Quest ratings are displayed on both the list page and advanced search.
– Quests will now display Related Items if these items exist in the database. We re still adding many of these, but already have thousands of them in the database.
– You may now search for Quests by Related Items in the Advanced Search.

Spells

– Our spells database is now created directly from the in-game spell data. This ensures that the information will not go out of date at any point. We wrote this system from the ground up though and it should still be considered under construction. For the time being some spell effects are not listing correctly. We re working around the clock to get these all fixed, but it is going to take a few days.
– You may now search for spells by the classes that can cast that spell.
– You can now filter out NPC spells from the spells advanced search.

Class Areas

– We have added Class Areas to our site. This portion of the site is designed to help you quickly find gear, quests, strategy guides and other information that pertains to your class. This section of the site is currently under heavy construction. We have a brand new AAXP database (completely rewritten) that will be going live soon. We also have yet to post our old strategy guides or any new ones. This section of the site will be added to in the coming days.
