Three More Fable Reviews

Today we bring you news of three more reviews for Fable, all of which are in the positive range on their scores. The first is at Gaming Illustrated with an overall score of 94%:

The simple truth is that if a gamer were to ask, (Hey, is ‘˜Fable’ a fun game to play?) the answer would be a resounding (Yes!). The environments are rich, detailed, and impressive, and the story and gameplay offer up a unique and entertaining experience. It’s a very unique and original title that all RPG players will have a ball playing.

The second is at Games Asylum with an overall score of 8/10:

It’s clear that Fable has been designed so that anyone can finish it regardless of their prowess. From the very start you’re given an item that allows you to teleport all over the world, reducing backtracking to a minimum. Potions that bring you back from the dead (think Final Fantasy’s Phoenix Downs) are bountiful and, moreover, you can see the end of the game after just ten hours of play. We wouldn’t say that it’s an easy game though – we’d prefer ‘stress free’. Besides, if you want to complete all the sub-quests and unlock every Demon Door (portals that require certain criteria to open) then you’ll be looking at nearer 25 hours.

And the third is at Gamenikki with an overall score of 7/10:

Fable is a game that defies the typical scoring systems. Some gamers, even open-minded fans of RPGs, are going to look at the 10-hour (or less) storyline and the simplistic combat, and write this one off as a total failure. Other players are going to dive into Fable, playing through again and again to try different heroes and experimenting with the villagers. In the end, there’s a lot of fun to be had inside of Fable’s borders, but you’ll be left wishing for more. Hopefully, Lionhead’s next attempt (if there is one) won’t feel quite so limiting.
