Turbine fired over a press release earlier today announcing the appointment of Jan Robert Horsfall as the company’s first chief marketing officer.

Horsfall brings a wealth of marketing and executive leadership experience to Turbine including roles at leading consumer and merchant brand organizations in the Internet, Energy, Telecom and Retail industries. Prior to joining Turbine, Jan served as the founder and CEO of several companies including Gelazzi, Inc.®, White Summit Strategies, Inc.™ and Gemini Voice Solutions, Inc.® Jan served as Vice President of Marketing for Lycos, Inc.®, one of the largest and most profitable internet companies with a consumer base of over 40 million monthly visitors. Lycos, which to this day represents the fastest IPO in the history of NASDAQ, was sold to the Spanish conglomerate Terra Networks S.A.® in 1999 for $7.5 billion. In his role as Vice President of Consumer Brand Strategy at The Valvoline Company® he helped lead widespread organizational and strategic changes which saw the venerable company move from the #5 market share position to a leading position globally.
