Two Worlds II Preview, Archery Video, and Interview Teases

Those of you following Two Worlds II have a few more pieces of news to be interested in today, starting with a brand new hands-on preview over at Destructoid:

I’m probably going to focus a lot of my skill points on my magic abilities, as the magic system is going to be very deep and fun. You’ll be able to build magic spells with cards to create a seemingly endless amount of spells. One simple example is shooting a fireball. By adding a modifer to the card, you can shoot out three fireballs at once. Add more modifers, and you’ll then be able to summon five fireballs that can track targets. Add yet another modifer, and you can have bees appear after the fireballs hit the target.

An extreme example of the magic spells detailed to me involved a TopWare employee summoning a tornado. The person then applied a card to the spell so the tornado would move around wherever the character would walk. Applying another card then summoned random junk like crates to rain from the sky; the stuff would get sucked up into the tornado. As the player moved about, enemies would get sucked into the tornado, too, and get pummeled to death by all the junk.

Destructoid has also kicked up an interview tease with TopWare’s Jake DiGennaro, in which he suggests that Two Worlds III is a definite possibility:

Jake laid it out pretty clearly that “assuming [Two Worlds II] is successful enough to warrant it, Two Worlds III is something we have definitely given thought.” Before you get worried, Two Worlds II won’t end with some kind of bullsh*t cliffhanger as the game is being structured “in a way that provides closure on the events of the game, and leaves the door open to an extent for the opening of a third game.”

Company talks about making a sequel; nothing really shocking there. It is interesting to see that TopWare is already exploring the future, especially when it’s going to take a lot of convincing that Two Worlds II isn’t repeating the mistakes of the original. Jake shares this sentiment and feels “it’s a fine line to walk when you’re working on a franchise that you’re kind of wishy-washy on how it’s going to be received.”

GamerZines also teases an upcoming interview with Jake, placing the game’s main campaign at about 25 hours:

“The main storyline will take players roughly 25 hours to complete, with an additional 15-20 hours of side-questing and exploring.” Revealed the PR & community director.

“But don’t forget there is an entirely separate online co-op campaign, as well as PvP and the highly anticipated ‘Village Mode’ to keep players busy in the world of Antaloor long after they conquer the single player campaign!”

And, finally, there’s this new archery gameplay trailer over at IGN’s Two Worlds Vault.
