Ubisoft is Changing Hosting Providers, Uplay Games Will Be Unplayable

I know many of you have been spending considerable amounts of time with Might & Magic: Heroes VI, so I figured it’s worth pointing out that Ubisoft is switching hosting providers, and that means that all of their titles that utilize Uplay (including Heroes VI) will be unplayable until the transition is complete. Just one more reason to dislike online-only DRM:

The following games will not be playable during the transition:

ASSASSIN’S CREED ® MAC
Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X.® 2 PC
Might & Magic : Heroes VI PC
Splinter Cell Conviction® MAC
The Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdomâ„¢ PC
The Settlers ® MAC

The Online features of all games that are not mentioned above will be impacted during the transition, Offline modes will not be impacted.

Impact on Uplayâ„¢: Uplay PC will be not be available during the transition.
PC games will remain available for all players who have already connected at least once.

Ironic that the online service is called “Uplay”, isn’t it?  Thanks, VG247.
