Unveiling the Gameplay of The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt

For the third and last part of their The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt making of documentary, titled “Unveiling the Gameplay of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt”, the folks at GameSpot have chosen to focus on the bulk of the game’s activities, which comes in the form of quests. Thanks to lead quest designer Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz we learn why the developers opted to avoid level scaling for their quests, how the side quests and main quest end up intermingling with one another, how the Ciri segments will roughly play out throughout the game (no spoilers are included in the video, so don’t worry about that), and why and how the Gwent card mini-game was implemented.

Based on their time with the game, the GameSpot journalists seemed pretty impressed with the variety displayed by the game when compared to an average open-world title, though obviously it’s far too early to say how it’ll fare throughout an entire playthrough.
