I am constantly awed and amazed by the number of people I chat with who can remember the very first Warlords game. Not only can they remember playing it, but – 13 years later – they still remember the names of most of the eighty cities on the map and even what troops a given city could produce. Now, the truth is that I remember most of these things too, but that’s not surprising because I am a self-confessed geek, and besides… I have lived, breathed, eaten and slept Warlords for the last 13 years of my life – it is both my job and my passion. What I realize now is that Warlords is not just “mine” – it has become a passion for many folk all over the world. For some, this obsession lasts a short time, for others longer… but in many cases, the impression it leaves is a lasting one – one not easily forgotten.
