What Ports Will NWN Tie Up?

Gamer asks what port NWN will be running on:

Does anyone know what ports NWN is going to require for multiplayer games. Will it be server configurable? Many of us play behind the great wall of fire and have only limited access to the greater world out there.

On the server, the port that you want to run on is a setting that you can choose. It doesn’t choose a random port. We have a default one set up right now, but it’s really easy to change. All network traffic for that protocol goes through that port. If you want to have multiple servers running through the NAT, you should be able to run it by specifying different ports for different servers in your LAN setup.

The clients still choose random ports because it is usually a bad idea to force a client to use a specific port.
