World of Warcraft Beta Diary

Boomtown has released their fourth World of Warcraft beta diary, this time discussing server types and auction houses. A snippet:

Blizzard recently announced their intention to keep players separated Europeans on European servers, Americans on American ones and Asians on Asian ones. This has obvious advantages, among others not having your chat box filled with prolonged arguments in Chinese (how many of you understand Bulgarian, truthfully?), higher ping rates and local support. Local servers in Europe will even be divided by language allowing for instance the French to use a French server where everything is renamed in French.

On the other hand this is a disadvantage for people playing in international clans (commonly known as guilds in roleplaying terms) as they are suddenly separated. Obviously this has resulted in a hefty debate among these people and Blizzard has announced their intention to look into a solution to this in due time. And on a more personal note, Americans tend to be quite entertaining to play with as opposed to the sometimes more reserved Europeans.
