World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Reviews

If the very first reviews of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm are any indication, Blizzard Entertainment just might have another certifiable hit on their hands. VentureBeat gives the expansion a 95/100:

It’s the end of the world, and we really are feeling just fine. Better than fine, even. World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is an incredible testament to the ability of Blizzard’s developers and the kind of experience an online role-playing game can deliver. It isn’t without its flaws often times, the game assumes players know nothing and holds their hands a little too much. The new zones, while beautiful, can also be a little unwieldy to navigate particularly the newest renditions of hub cities that all players traditionally spend a lot of time in. But it still does set a standard for all other online games to follow you can make a game that has something for just about everyone and make a ton of money off it as a result.

While PCGames.de gives it a 91%:

Cataclysm also advertises with seven new five-player dungeons (level 80) and four new raid for ten or 25 players. All instances for five players, once they have reached the maximum level, are also played in a heroic version. In these struggles are heavier, but also reward the player with higher quality booty. Even with the five-player instances, especially in the heroic version, falls on the challenging difficulty. It is Blizzard managed to make the Boss tuners to intuitively and varied, but to demand his players well. It remains to be seen whether the developer reduce the level of difficulty before the publication of Cataclysm. Most likely this seems, however, because the majority of the community was particularly the instances of the last expansion Wrath of the Lich King to be too easy and wanted more challenging gameplay.
