Xenonauts Kickstarter Project Update #8 and #9, $115,000 and Counting

There have been two new updates to the Xenonauts Kickstarter project since the last time I checked, with the 8th update alerting us to a couple of surveys to gauge Linux and Mac interest and the 9th update outlining some of the steps they’re taking to drum up some additional momentum during the final week.

We’re doing a couple of things to create a bit of momentum in the final week. The first thing is to create a few more rewards at the hugely-popular $200 level (the first level that includes a custom soldier portrait). So if you’re keen to have your face on an in-game soldier, this is your chance!

We’ve released another 10 portraits at the $200 level today, and we’ll consider releasing another 10 on the final day too! The previous 50 sold out in less than three days, so get in there quick if you’re interested!

The second thing we’re doing is to improve the stretch goals a bit – the $40,000 jump for a new tileset is quite considerable, but reflects the huge number of tiles in a tileset. It doesn’t really give you guys much to aim for though, as we’re currently still $26,600 from the next stretch goal.

Instead, we’ve decided to add in the Tileset-specific AI soldiers if we get $25,000 of the way to a $40,000 stretch goal, but don’t achieve it. So if we raise $130,000, that won’t be enough for the Soviet Town tileset ($140k) but you will get the Tileset-specific AI soldiers. If you hit $150,000, you’ll get the Soviet Town tileset but you’d need to hit $165,000 to get the Tileset-specific AI soldiers as well, etc.

This means that the next stretch goal is only actually $11,600 away! That suggestion came from the community, so thanks for that. It was a good one!
