Walkthrough

1 – POOL CAVERN

By using the Portal up from the Hall of Armathors you’ve made it to the Pool Cavern where the Pool of Radiance is located.

2 – CULT GREETINGS

The Cult will greet you here once again. Once more you will have to face several Dragon-Kin, a few Dragon-kin Captains, some Cult Archmages, a Cult Overseer, several Cult Brigadiers and a Cult Field Marshal. By now you should not have any problems dispatching them, just make sure to take out the spellcasters first to make things easier. When they are all dead take the Ring of the Protected and a potion of Spell Resistance from the ground.

3 – KYA’S MIND JOB

When you get near the pool Kya will try to lure you into thinking of how you can wield the power of the Pool. Resist her and continue your Quest. You will be rewarded with a notable amount of experience for not falling into her mind trap. If you powder your thoughts about using the power of the Pool though, Kya will buy some time to send another Cult army against you. Again all the elite members of the Cult will attack you from all sides.

4 – KYA MORDRAYN

The source of evil and creator of the Pool of Radiance, Kya Mordrayn, is located here. She is invulnerable at the moment since she attends the Mythal. To fight her you must first go to area #5 and destroy the Sapphire of the Weave. When the Gem is destroyed you will have to fight Kya Mordrayn along with 2 more images of her. Just keep your fighters close to her and without her magic she will perish in a few rounds.

5 – SAPPHIRE OF THE WEAVE

The sapphire of Weave can be found here. Once you get near it you will speak the Word of Redemption you have learned from Miroden. Soon after Miroden himself will appear near the Gem. A cut-scene will show Miroden destroying the Gem and seconds after you will come up against 3 Kya Mordrayns!

6 – PELENDRALAAR

When you defeat Kya Mordrayn another cut-scene will take place. See Kya been dragged down to hell by her Dark Masters leaving behind only the Gauntlets of Moander that have the power to Destroy the pool. But it’s not over yet, once Kya is down Pelendralaar will appear, a nasty Demilich Dragon with tons of hit points. Meanwhile Eversong will find some time to attend the Mythal and totally heal your party before the fight start. When all is said and done you will have to defeat the Demilich as well. Keep in mind that Pelendralaar has a very high spell resistance (36) and he is almost invulnerable to magic so you will have to fight him in close quarters. The best way to defeat him is to have one of your fighters wield the Draedsweord Daemoniac and the Daemonclaws of Gr’Zak, so in every hit you will cause a nice amount of damage (60-80). Keep you spellcasters behind so that they can provide help to the fighters in the front line and equip them with salves of healing. Keep an eye on your fighter’s health and use the salves when is needed. When Pelendralaar is finally defeated, sit back and enjoy the ending movie. You will be informed from the DM that you have won the game and that you can continue if you want to complete any unfinished quests you left behind. The Dragon drops some very powerful weapons too, Fau’Bluh’Ne (club), Plaeg (Shortbow) and Praung (Shortsword).

Congratulations you’ve won the game!

7 – PORTAL TO CASTLE CORMANTHOR

If you decide to continue your trip in Myth Drannor, there is a portal here that takes you up to the Castle Cormanthor where you can resume your quest. Some items can also be found on the ground near the portal, amongst them an Ancient Dwarven Ceremonial Dagger.
