Attributes – Pool of Radiance

Everything you need to know about attributes in Pool of Radiance.

Strength

This is the measure of how much a character can carry and how much damage he can do in a fight. It is the prime requisite for fighters.

Intelligence

This is the measure of how much a character can ultimately memorize. It is the prime requisite for magic users.

Wisdom

This is the measure of a character’s ability to understand the ways of the world and interact with it. It is the prime requisite for clerics. Clerics gain additional spells if their wisdom is 13 or higher.

Dexterity

This is the measure of the manual dexterity and agility of a character. It is the prime requisite for thieves. Each point of dexterity over 14 subtracts 1 from the character’s AC.

Constitution

This is the measure of the overall health of a character. If the character’s constitution is over 14, then he receives a bonus to his hit point gain each time he levels. Fighters appear to gain 1 bonus hit point for each point of constitution over 14, while for other classes the bonus is capped at 2.

Charisma

This is the measure of how well a character interacts with other characters.
