Positioned as a psychological horror, Inmates is not actually that scary, the puzzles that are the main gameplay mechanic here are fairly simple, and its visuals are somewhat sloppy. It's also extremely linear, short, and offers no replayability whatsoever.

In The Walking Dead: A New Frontier, Telltale Games tells a new story in The Walking Dead universe. This allows them to bring back a lot of familiar faces, raise the stakes, and up the drama. All of this results in a greatly enjoyable experience for the fans of Telltale's The Walking Dead.

Based on a popular comic book series, The Wolf Among Us takes a bunch of fairy tale characters, transports them to modern-day New York, and then embroils them all in a hardboiled mystery story full of murder and secrets. This inventive premise allows Telltale Games to spread their wings and offer us some of their best work to date.

An episodic adventure that goes back to the setting that really put Telltale Games on the map, The Walking Dead: Michonne follows the titular Michonne as she struggles to survive in her zombie-infested world while dealing with other survivors and making important choices along the way. If you've enjoyed the previous Telltale adventures, you'll probably like this one as well.

Picking up right where the first season left off, The Walking Dead: The Complete Second Season makes Clementine the lead character. This change allows the game to explore new aspects of the setting and raise the overall level of tension, as dealing with zombies and villainous humans is much tougher when you're playing as a little girl.

An emotional story of redemption and second chances, The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season is a narrative adventure game packed with big choices to make, tense encounters with the undead, and a complex web of interpersonal relationships among the survivor of the zombie apocalypse.

South Park: The Fractured but Whole is a great South Park game that stays faithful to the source material while telling a Superhero-themed story. Its RPG elements, on the other hand, are fairly basic. With free full heals between battles, and the ability to completely change your character at will, everything you do lacks any sort of long-term impact.

Little Kite is an indie point-and-click adventure that deals with such topics like alcoholism and domestic abuse. Despite how ridiculous this combination of theme and genre sounds, the game mostly works and is fairly enjoyable outside its annoying save system and the way it highlights interactable objects.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War continues the story of Shadow of Mordor famous for its innovative Nemesis System while addressing some of that game's criticisms, like its fairly unforgiving difficulty curve. And while Shadow of War does have its fair share of microtransactions, they're not intrusive and you can easily play through the whole game without even realizing they exist.

Despite its title, War for the Overworld doesn't actually let you explore said overworld, keeping you underground throughout its extended campaign. In short, if you're just looking for a modern recreation of Dungeon Keeper, this is the game for you, but if you're interested in some innovation in the dungeon sim genre, you might want to turn your attention to something like the Dungeons series instead.
