Generic and repetitive, Glitch vs. Clog is a shining example of why mobile games tend to have a bad reputation among core gamers. The gameplay here revolves around scoring points by bouncing off asteroids. The visuals and sound surrounding that are subpar, the controls wonky, and there just isn't anything there to hold your attention.

The Surge is a Dark Souls-inspired game that carves a niche for itself with its refreshing sci-fi setting and a deep limb-targeting system that elevates the game's combat mechanics above its competition. What it doesn't have is a lot of memorable bosses, while its level design tends to be more linear than open-ended.

The latest entry in the venerable strategy series, Civilization VI shakes up the formula quite a bit by focusing on specialization. No longer will you be able to stack all your units, build (mostly) every building in every city, and just automate your workers. The abovementioned changes, as well as a heap of others, for the most part work and still manage to create that addictive "one more turn" effect Civ games are famous for.

Bambosher: Bring Down the Bullies is a side-scrolling auto-runner for mobile devices that tries really hard to squeeze an anti-bullying message into its concept. The gameplay here is rather simplistic and lacking in the replayability department, while the in-app purchases are surprisingly pointless and have very limited uses.

Despite the images conjured by its title, The Sexy Brutale is actually a stylish and inventive puzzle game that revolves around murder mysteries and time manipulation. For a game like this, it's very easy to fall into the style-over-substance trap, but The Sexy Brutale actually manages to have both in equal measure.

Mahjong for the PlayStation 4 features a total of 70 tile-based puzzles that should entertain and delight any Mahjong enthusiast out there. The game could use some additional game modes and difficulty levels, however.

What few highlights there are in Kitten Squad are overshadowed by dull everything. Dull gameplay, dull graphics, dull story. It doesn't technically do anything badly, but it doesn't do much well, either. These game, overall, feels lazy.

The Last Guardian is a flawed masterpiece. A beautifully-rendered story marred with slow gameplay and performance issues, it is still such a beautiful tale and world that it can be easily called "art." The Last Guardian is fantastic, except for the things that hold it back.

Quarantine is a fantastic pandemic-management simulator. Truly challenging, and also truly addicting, the game balances smart gameplay with simple, intuitive UI in order to craft a game that is far more than it may look at first glance.

A huge step forward for VR, Farpoint is revolutionary in that way. However incredible it is in that field, though, that's about all it is: a digital shooting gallery. Thankfully, that's all it needs to be, though it could have gone even further.
