A surprisingly effective, unique horror game, From Next Door is a minimalist horror game available free on Itch.io, but don't let that throw you off. The tension of the game is its true strength, as is its unique monochrome artstyle, and horror fans should definitely give this brief title a try.

Earthworm Jim is a classic for a reason, and the HD remake brings it as close as it can get to modernity. Still, the gameplay nowadays is a bit stilted, and the there isn't a lot of meat on the bones. Earthworm Jim is still fun, but a lot has been lost with time.

Better than the vast majority of free, Indie horror games, Mirror Layers takes a unique and interesting approach to horror. It's "social" mechanics and the blending of non-game assets adds a lot to the fear, all work to the benefit of a game that would've already been frightening without.

Dishonored is a brilliant stealth title. With tons of approaches for each level, plenty of reason to run through the game again, and an absolutely amazing world and art style, fans of the stealth genre who haven't already picked this one up really should.

Limbo is a fine game. Far from a masterpiece, its incredibly minimalistic design is both its biggest boon and its greatest detriment. Everything is stripped down to bare essentials, making for a streamlined, but ultimately somewhat shallow, experience.

Trove might be a bit too simple for an MMO, but it is otherwise a fantastic product that is easy to sink hours into. Filled with variety, Trove is a breath of fresh air in a genre that otherwise gets stale, doing far more than simply mixing WoW with Minecraft.

You might have fond memories of Street Fight II: Special Championship Edition, but the reality is that the game only holds up so well. Nice graphics (for the time), great replayability, and solid gameplay make this gem stand out, but all the dated elements keep it from feeling quite as well to play today.

Streets of Rage 2 is a side-scrolling beat-em-up game published by Sega in 1992. It's a little simplistic by today's standards, but it still provides plenty of fun as you beat up hordes of enemies while attempting to rescue your friend from the evil Mr. X.

The game that spawned a movie and game franchise, the first Resident Evil looks a little dated today, but but it's still worth playing for its scares, puzzles, and strategy.

Astervoid 2000 is a modern version of the arcade game Asteroids. It includes local multiplayer for 2-4 players, and is much more enjoyable that way.
