Beautifully rendered, gut-wrenchingly realistic, and solemnly depicted -- these are some of the ways to describe Battlefield 1 and its take on World War I. This is a game not to be missed.

Batman: Arkham VR is one of the best VR games available for the Playstation. It allows you to play as Batman and explore numerous locations around Gotham City, including Wayne Manor and the Batcave, while investigating a mystery. The controls work well and the graphics are superb. Just be wary of VR nausea issues.

Rise of the Tomb Raider has all of the elements required for a Tomb Raider game -- an ancient artifact, an evil cult, hidden secrets, and lots of running around mysterious locales. The game also has excellent graphics and sound, and lots of polish, making it worthwhile to play.

Starr Mazer: DSP is challenging, gorgeous, retro, and super fun. That said, the complete reset of progress on a loss feels a bit more like an arcade machine trying to eat my quarters than a modern game with Rogueish inspirations.

A quaint title, Ginger: Beyond the Crystal is a sweet n' simple indie platformer with a very unique aesthetic and fun gameplay. That said, it isn't the most comlex game, and replayability is minimal.

EVE: Valkyrie is not just an amazing VR game, it's a remarkable game, period. With near-lifelike graphics, fantastic controls, and great gameplay, the only thing dragging EVE: Valkyrie down is its reliance on A.I. enemies whose difficulty highly fluctuates.

With no real story to speak of, confusing gameplay mechanics, and basically no replayability, XCOM 2 is just fine. There is something there, and something fun to the persistent world, but overall this just isn't a great game.

A truly terrifying experience, there is a reason Fatal Frame is remembered in the nightmares of so many who have played it. And, yes, playing it today will still generate new ones.

Mafia III might have an absolutely brilliant story, and beautiful graphics, but it is somewhat let down by tedious gameplay and world design. Certainly not as good as its predecessors, Mafia III is still a competent title, worth it for the story alone. But it could've been much more.

The oft-forgotten Haunting Starring Polerguy is still just as much fun to play today as it was when it released in 1993. Quirky, somewhat tricky, and a little bit hilarious, Haunting Starring Polterguy might not've been the perfect game, but it was (and still is) a dang fun time.
