The final chapter of Spiderweb's flagship series, Avernum 6 can be played as its own thing, but it becomes much easier to appreciate it if you know where it came from and can trace the evolution of quest and combat design on display here.

BioShock 2 may be a better shooter than its predecessor, but just about every other aspect of it is in some way worse. And the bar wasn't set too high there to begin with.

Boring, repetitive, and downright incomplete, Greed: Black Border is a title you should avoid unless your standards are terribly low. Even for a budget title, there isn't much here to praise.

While Borderlands doesn't do anything especially well, its shortcomings become much less pronounced in multiplayer, making it a decent FPS/RPG hybrid that still runs out of steam long before it reaches the finish line.
