Walkthrough – Risen

Welcome to our Risen walkthrough. If you’d like to learn how to navigate the dangerous Faranga Island and its tricky faction politics to ultimately save the day and become a true champion, you’ve come to the right place.

Walkthrough Notes

Difficulty Settings

The game features three difficulty settings: easy, normal and hard. The first time you play the game you should probably play on normal, or even on easy if you aren’t familiar with other Piranha-Bytes games (the Gothic series). Basically, the harder the difficulty is, the enemies deal more damage and they are more resistant. The walkthrough was written whilst playing on hard difficulty, which ups the game challenge a bit, but still isn’t really hard once you understand the combat system.

Game Version

The game version used while creating the walkthrough is 1.1 (English). Be sure to play with it as it fixes several important bug fixes.

Walkthrough Organization

Since Risen is an open-ended RPG, quests are organized by the quest hubs found around the island. Basically, they are grouped up in such a way that every page and section is supposed to represent one coherent piece.

The sections themselves are enrolled into almost chronological order with a geographic frame. This ensures the quest fluency and you shouldn’t feel lost or in search for quests and things to do.

Remember that Risen is open-ended and there are many secrets and particular places which aren’t described since marking all the loot and chests around the island would be obscene. Therefore, explore as much as you can within the domain of the enemies that you can take out with no problem.
