In this guide, we will be exploring the Train Yard monument. This guide contains the general strategy and meta for the monument, a map with Crate spawn locations, and callouts so you can more easily navigate the monument.

For info on how to read the map and some more general information about the guide, please refer to the Map Key in the Main Guide.

General Info

Train Yard is one of the most populated monuments on the island. You can use multiple utilities here to effectively progress your wipe. Including but not limited to, a Red Card, Recycler, train car unloader, and more. Here you can either make it rich or find yourself sinking kits faster than you could imagine.

Strategy and Meta

Looting the Monument

Trainyard is a Tier-3 monument, containing some of the best loot in the game, but also the most constant action. But it is worth is, since Train Yard has some of the highest and most consistent military crate spawns in the entire game. The best route to take advantage of this is to start on top of the Yellow Loaders (10) and in the backroom behind the puzzle. Doing so can easily net you three military crates and some extras worth of loot, and can be done in under two minutes. Talk about efficiency!

Train Car Unloader

After you’ve run the monument a few times and have managed to collect a Green Card and a Fuse, you can ride around the map and collect some train cars, which you can then bring back to the train yard to empty them for even more loot.

To do so, you’ll need to start by finding a train. You will need about 40 low-grade fuel to even start to run it, with more being required the further you take it. Second, you must gather some train cars in loot with them. Do not concern yourself with the empty covered car, as they have nothing in them. Focus on the oil tanker cars and the trough cars, pictured below, which are filled with valuable materials.

After you’ve collected some train cars, you can drive them on over to the Train Yard. Line up your cars just under the unloading shoot (See Below), and then head into the Switch Tower (8) using a fuse and Green Card. Then, simply click the buttons to move the nozzle up and down to pull the resources out. They will be deposited into the unloading tanks below the switches, where you can grab them. As you empty the material, make sure you run outside to loot the crates stuck inside the rock.

How to Complete the Puzzle at Train Yard

Now, if you’ve emptied some train cars and run around to grab all of the easy crates, you can go for the loot inside the Card Room. First, you will need to collect a blue card; Sewer Branch and Satalite dish are two of the best places to get one of these cards.

After you have a Blue card, start by killing the Scientist protecting the first switch in the Generator Building (3). Flip the switch and move quickly to the next switch; remember, you are on a timer! After this run-over and killing of scientists inside the Tower Building (8), get to the top and flip the switch quickly. For the last step, run back over to the Main Building (9), and kill the scientist covering the final switch and the fuse container.

After you kill him, you can walk back out and run all the way up to the blue room, swipe your card and get to looting. There are 3 crates instantly to your left; straight in front of you will be another 4 and a Red card on the desk.
