Skyrim Legendary Bundle Released

skyrim legendary bundle releaseLast week, Bethesda and 2K teamed up to release Skyrim and BioShock Infinite together in one special, all- new collection. The Skyrim Legendary Bundle includes both award winning games in one package for $29.99, and is available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows PC. Skyrim Legendary Bundle

The Skyrim Legendary Bundle is an interesting juxtaposition of two highly rated games. Both Skyrim and BioShock Infinite have scored an impressive 94 overall rating based on Metacritic.com scores across all platforms. In addition, Skyrim has sold over 20 million copies, while BioShock Infinite is on course to becoming the highest-rated first-person shooter of 2013. Both games have earned coveted Game of the Year awards, and are the heavy hitters of their respective publishers.

According to Christopher Hartmann, president of 2K, the games in the bundled package “have sold tens of millions of copies worldwide, and have been recognized by hundreds of critics as the best in the industry…”

Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks, added that each of the games “has an extraordinarily passionate fan base and we look forward to seeing those grow even larger as more people get to explore these fully-realized worlds.”

Strange Bedfellows

Skyrim itself is no stranger to special releases. Late last year, the game was released in both an overhauled Legendary Edition and special Elder Scrolls Anthology. This special release is different however, for Skyrim bundles itself with a game from a completely different genre and publisher. Whereas Skyrim is a first-person RPG set in the classic fantasy world of The Elder Scrolls, BioShock Infinite is a first-person shooter set in a steampunk version of 1912. Usually RPGs and shooters are on different ends of the spectrum as far as video game releases go, but not in the case of the Skyrim Legendary Bundle.
