Skywind: Skyrim Mod Transforms Morrowind

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind has been one of the most raved about titles in the Elder Scrolls series since its release in June 2002. The game’s rich story, stunning atmosphere and real sense of adventure had players (and still does) clinging to their controllers wanting more. Although Morrowind’s story lives on its graphics have seen much better days, luckily for Elder Scrolls fans there’s a Skyrim mod on the horizon that plans to fix that problem.

Skywind, the Morrowind facelift mod using Skyrim’s Creation Engine, is being produced to completely revamp the outdated graphics while giving Morrowind a few new features. Some of the new additions to the game will include dynamic lighting, greater draw distance, improved NPCs and greater floral detail just to name a few.  Maybe we’ll even see player houses sprouting in Vvardenfell with Hearthfire compatibility.

The developer of Skywind goes by the name of Eloth, a former team member of the Morroblivion project which used Oblivion’s engine to reproduce Morrowind. With Eloth’s past experience we should expect great things to come from the Skywind project. If you’re interested in working on Skywind head over to the Skywind Forums.
