The 10 Best Skyrim Mods So Far

Elder Scrolls mods are one of the best parts of the series improving the graphics, adding in new items and even completely new quest lines. It’s understood by the PC community that modding an Elder Scrolls game is a must and Skyrim will not be the exception to this tradition. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been out for almost a month now and the mods keep flowing in, Skyrim is sure to have thousands of mods available to it throughout its lifetime. With that we’ve compiled a list of the 10 best mods you must have for the epic adventure title Skyrim.

#1: FXAA Post Process Injector

Most gamers are always looking for a little something extra when it comes to post effects in gaming in hopes to add to the realism. FXAA seems to be the best Post Process injector so far adding in bloom, sharpen, technicolor, sepia, tonemap, vignette and even more. This mod is also completely customizable allowing you to adjust each setting to your personal preferences.

#2: Val’s Crafting Meltdown

With Val’s Crafting Meltdown Mod players can now meltdown the useless armor pieces and weapons they find during their travels and turn them in to raw materials. This mod also allows for the creation of arrows which many players have been asking for since the release of Skyrim. There are plenty of other crafting mods but this one is the best, it’s even compatible with most of the other crafting mods.

#3: Skyrim HD

Skyrim HD is a project aimed to replace most of Skyrim’s original textures based on the premise of improvement, particularly HD improvement. If the current tectures aren’t hard enough for your computer to load then this mod is something you should take a look at.

#4: Realistic Water

Water in Skyrim is already stunning but the Realistic Water Mod creates even better water effects adding to the realism of Skyrim. Skyrim’s streams will now foam and bubble in a very realistic way.

#5: Nicer Snowflakes

With the Holidays approaching we felt it would be appropriate to post the Nice Snowflakes mod on our list. This mods adds a variety of new snow flows in high resolution replacing the lame white blobs Skyrim had before. Even if you don’t like snow this mod is surely worth a download.

#6: Immersive Skyrim Thunder V4

This mod changes Skyrim’s rain effects and adds in the much needed thunder sound effects. The perfect mod for those of you looking to test out your new surround sound systems.

#7: Detailed Faces

Xenius has been busy developing his character model mods. This particular mod improves the faces of each race by fixing their noses, chins and enhancing other facial features. Xenius’s other mods include: High Quality Eyes, No More Blocky Faces, Detailed Bodies, Detailed Lips, and Better Beast Races.

#8: Skyrim 4GB

After installing most of the mods from this list you’ll most likely experience some slow downs. Bethesda designed Skyrim to utilize no more than 2GB of RAM no matter how much you actually have installed. Luckily this Skyrim 4GB fixes that issues and allows you to push your system like never before.

#9: Enhanced Night Sky

Skyrim’s night sky is already absolutely stunning but of course someone wasn’t completely satisfied with it. This replaces Skyrim’s night sky with high resolution textures without messing up Skyrim’s in-game constellations.

#10: Glowing Ore Veins

This is the perfect mod for the miner at heart. As players know finding veins is a little difficult, sometimes you can walk by them without ever noticing. This mod fixes that issue by adding glow maps to each of he individual ore veins.
