This guide provides a strategy and explanation for a perfect party composition in Star Wars: KOTOR II.

You, Bao-Dur, Mira:
Depending on what skills you have chosen I found this party to be the most versatile in battle and while exploring. Equipping Mira and Bao-Dur with your most powerful ranged weapons and setting them to Grenadier packs a strong punch with yourself moving in for clean-up. When/If you teach these characters about the force, setting them to Jedi Defense and building their defensive force powers is a great bonus. When you are exploring areas their skills mesh into a team that can resolve most any lock, minefield, etc.
