Control Room Walkthrough (Hints and Solutions) – Stray

Once the subway train stops, the doors will open — head out of the left side of the train and make your way up the stairs. Turn right at the top of the stairs, and head up the next set. At the top, turn left and head up a final set of stairs, and turn left to find the entrance to the Control Room. Before you head that way, however, you may want to head forwards to the big windows and check out the view — you can see many of the previous levels from here!

When you’re ready, it’s time to get into the Control Room. Naturally, you won’t be able to just walk in…

Look at the cables that come from the Control Room doors — do they lead anywhere?

Activate the little cubical robot and lead it over to the panel on the left side of the Control Room Doors (step 1). It will slide into place and stay there, and then you can go to the panel on the right side of the doors (2) and interact with it. B-12 will start trying to hack it, and you can head to the panel on the left (3), jump up on the little bot, and scratch the wires. That done, the doors will open!

Once you’ve got the Control Room doors open, head through them and into the Control Room. A cutscene will play, and you’ll get some pretty important lore from B-12. Once it ends, head over to the far side of the control room (where all the computery-looking equipment is) and inspect the main bank of controls under the Control Room sign.

After inspecting the main computer, B-12 will tell you that you need to turn on the computers in order to escape the city — but he doesn’t tell you how to do it.

You’ve solved a similar puzzle before — just do the thing everyone who works from home hates when their cat does.

You need to turn on all of the computers that are off — this can be done by walking on the keyboards. Computers that are “on” have blue screens, while computers that are “off” have black screens.

Once the computers are on, another cutscene will play, and you’ll have a conversation with B-12. Now you’ll need to help B-12 hack into three different workstations.

There are three panels you can open to expose wires that you can then scratch, but two of the three panels are hidden in some way.

Look for the computer screens with orange/yellow lock symbols on them. For each of these, there will be a nearby panel you can open and then scratch the wires. The first is found to the left of the main computer — jump up onto the indicated shelf and push the metal panel out of the way to expose the wiring (1), then jump down and scratch the wires (2). Then you can have B-12 hack the connected console (3).

Next, turn around and head to the other side of the room — there’s another hidden panel on top of the console there (4, 5) — scratch the wires, and have B-12 hack the computer. Finally, head back towards the door, and you can find the third panel to the right of the large window (6). Don’t forget to have B-12 hack the computer once you’ve destroyed the wiring!

After B-12 has hacked all three consoles, he’ll fall to the floor. Pick him up and carry him to the workstation (1), and another cutscene/conversation will play out. When the cutscene ends, leave the control room the same way you came in (via the large glass doors) and then take a right and head down the stairs towards the large red metal doors (2). They’ll open as you approach, and you can leave the city.
