You Can Now Play Valheim in VR

The viking world of Valheim is already plenty immersive. Now, those of you lucky enough to have access to a VR set-up will be able to see the 10th World through a viking’s eyes with this recently released VR mod for Valheim.

Created by Brandon Mousseau, the mod is still relatively early in development. Currently, there is no support for motion controls, so you’ll have to play with a controller or keyboard and mouse (motion controls do work for using the game’s menus). Full motion controls are planned for future updates.

You can see the mod in action on YouTube: while it’s pretty apparent that Valheim’s camera wasn’t designed with VR head-movement in mind, the game still looks great, and the majesty of Valheim’s scenery is only amplified by the first-person perspective.

The mod is only in version 0.1.2 at the moment, and those of you looking for a stable VR experience will likely need to wait for future updates. That being said, if you’re someone who likes testing the hot new thing, bugs and all, give it a try and let us know how it goes!
