Amidst the Mill’s Grist – Witcher 3: Blood and Wine Quest

1 – Count de la Croix’s Mill

Background

This quest will only be available between the end of the quest La Cage au Fou and the end of the quest Where Children Toil, Toys Waste Away (that is, between successive main quests). When you approach Count de la Croix’s Mill in Toussaint South (#1), you’ll overhear some peasants preparing to steal flour from it. When the (level 42) peasants see you, they’ll attack. Killing the peasants will trigger the quest.

Walkthrough

During the quest La Cage au Fou, you saw that Dettlaff killed de la Croix inside the mill, so for this quest you’ll need to search the mill for clues. If you turn on your witcher senses, then on the ground floor you’ll find some footprints and Mill for Sale notice, and upstairs you’ll detect a pool of blood. Discovering these clues will complete the quest and earn you 400 xp.
