1 – Temerian Partisan Hideout
2 – Hanged Man’s Tree
3 – Mulbrydale

Background

You’ll receive this quest from Vernon Roche during the main quest Get Junior.

Walkthrough

Roche will tell you that he has a favor to ask you, and that you should meet with him in his camp north of Oxenfurt (#1). At the camp, Roche will tell you that his second-in-command Ves has gone off to save the town of Mulbrydale even though he expressly ordered her not to. So he’ll ask you to help him track her down before she can do anything.

When you meet Roche at the Hanged Man’s Tree (#2) just north of Mulbrydale (#3), you’ll discover that you’re too late to stop Ves. She’ll go charging into battle by herself, and all you’ll be able to do is rush in after her to keep her alive. Since you’ll have Roche and Ves assisting you in the battle, it shouldn’t be too tough even though you’ll be facing about a dozen Nilfgaardian soldiers.

Afterwards, you’ll discover that one of the Nilfgaardian soldiers is still alive, and you’ll have to decide what to do with him. This decision will only affect Mulbrydale. If you spare the soldier, then Mulbrydale will continue on just like it was before. But if you kill him, then Mulbrydale will face certain reprisals from the Nilfgaardians, and the town’s two shopkeepers (a merchant and a swordsmith) will stop dealing with you. Either way, you’ll earn 50 xp for completing the quest.
